COVID-19 has caused the delay of a murder trial. Thirty-eight year old Donald Fredres is accused of shooting and killing sixty-two year olds Gregory and Brenda Barnes in their home in Sheridan last year.

He’s also accused of trying to kill his ex-wife. Fredres was scheduled to go to trial next week but the prosecution and defense decided to wait on the trial because of a spike in COVID cases.

Judge H. Chris Ryan struck the trial dates but said that COVID-19 spikes could happen whenever a trial is scheduled. Fredres will be back in court next week.
