Morris Hospital says if you need a monoclonal antibody treatment for COVID-19, you might not be able to get it. One treatment isn’t proving very effective against the omicron variant. The other’s in short supply.
Dr. Alyssa Knoderer says it’s better to get vaccinated anyway. She says it’s better to fight the virus in the first place with your own antibodies than with someone else’s after you’re sick.
Also, the hospital has had at least 30 COVID patients every day for 35 days in a row as of Friday.
Correction notice: An earlier version of this story said there would be no more antibody therapy at Morris Hospital. The hospital says that is not the case, but the available therapy is in short supply.
