After a high speed chase from Streator’s west side to a spot west of Grand Ridge Wednesday evening, police arrested 45-year old Christopher Cunico. He allegedly crashed his car there, ran off, hid, and wasn’t found for a while. The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team got search help from area fire departments and police canine units. Cunico’s charged with having methamphetamine and having a gun despite being a convicted felon.
Trident says it got a search warrant for Cunico’s home on 4H Rd. in Ottawa and found drugs, guns, and ammo there. Trident also arrested 28-year old Brianna N. Woodard at the house. She’s charged with meth possession. Court records on their cases aren’t available yet as of this post. They were booked into the county jail Wednesday night to wait for a judge to set bond.
Trident says its agents tried to stop Cunico in Streator at 6pm Wednesday night during a drug dealing investigation. The crash happened at E. 12th Rd. and County Highway 6 (Farm Ridge Blacktop). Because of how long he’d been out in the cold, Cunico was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ottawa for a checkup before Trident took him to the LaSalle County jail.
