Sen. Dick Durbin used the Capitol riot anniversary to call for more laws to protect voter rights. On the Senate floor today, the Illinois Democrat said fair elections need to be accepted as fair elections.
Durbin says Republicans should read the Constitution if they think federal lawmakers have no say in how elections are conducted. It specifies that Congress has some responsibilities in that area.
