A house is to be torn down at Catlin Park. LaSalle County Parks Director Ken Henze says the house could be close to 100 years old. After the Catlin family moved out and gave the land to the county for a park, two park directors have lived in it.
But now it’s run down. Anything salvageable is coming out before a contractor is hired to demolish the house.
The County Board Property Committee talked last week about the importance of tearing down the house this spring while the ground is still frozen and the heavy trucks won’t leave ruts.
