Ottawa suffered a tough loss to Burlington Central 64-33 at the Plano Christmas Classic. The Pirates Anthony Miller led the team with nine points and eight rebounds in the loss. Ottawa will now play Lisle today at 3:30 for the 5th place bracket.
Also last night, Marquette was defeated by Reed-Custer 57-46 in the Marseilles Holiday tournament. Tommy Durdan led the Crusaders with 19 points in the losing effort.

At the Amboy Holiday Tournament Marquette fell to Serena 54-37. The Huskers Paisley Twait scored 25 points with five-steals. Lilly Craig led The Crusaders with 17 points.

The Chicago Bulls host the Atlanta Hawks tonight. The Bulls have won four straight games, including Monday’s 130-118 victory in Atlanta. Lonzo Ball is one of four Bulls that will miss the game due to the NBA’s health and safety protocols, while Derrick Jones Junior is questionable to play with a strained hamstring.

The football world is mourning the passing of Hall of Famer John Madden. The NFL announced the legendary coach of the Raiders and broadcasting Icon passed away at the age of 85 on Tuesday morning. Madden won Super Bowl 11 as head coach of the Raiders. He also was the namesake of the famous sports video game Madden Football Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement that “there will never be another John Madden.”
