Fifteen LaSalle County residents’ deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus during the last week. The LaSalle County Health Department says that brings the total to 376. Out of 18,312 cases so far, that’s a local fatality rate of 2%.
Older people are paying for the coronavirus surge. All of the cases counted since last Friday were of people in their 60’s and older. Of the 511 new cases in the county since then, just 65 were among people in that age group.
The statistics show 2,683 people in the county are currently known to have the virus. There have been 18,312 cases so far and 15,629 recoveries.
