The Ottawa City Council says no to a police officer’s grievance. The officer got some time off work as discipline for a three-car traffic crash. One of the vehicles was a squad car.
The officer filed a complaint, which starts with asking the police chief to reconsider. Then it can go to the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. After both turned down the request to see things the police officer’s way, it went to the City Council. But the police officer didn’t show up for that meeting last night, so the City Council left the discipline intact.
