Illinois Valley Community College is asking for $13.9 million in property taxes for next year’s levy. That’s a 9.3% increase.
This year the college asked for $12.5 million. The college had to hold a truth in taxation hearing at their last meeting because of the increase.
The levy covers about 40% of the college’s budget.
