In just two years, online class enrollment at Illinois Valley Community College is up by 86%. Director of Learning Resources Patrice Hess did a presentation about it at IVCC’s board of trustee’s monthly meeting.
Hess says that the college keeps track of how many students are taking classes online. She says the college didn’t count the numbers in 2020 because the college was in the middle of the pandemic.
She says online classes in applied sciences and certificate classes have also increased, even though many students are taking online classes to complete transfer credits. She says those classes include degrees in business administration, cyber security, and marketing.
