Dixon St. Rep Tom Demmer is trying to cut taxes for families. Demmer says he’ll introduce a refundable tax credit of up to $400 dollars. Demmer says as representatives consider the state budget, they also want to consider the budget of families.
He says that single tax filers who make up to $75,000 would get $200. Joint filers who make up to $150,000 would receive $400. And heads of households who make up to $112,500 would get $200.
Demmer says there are a few options to fund the $1.4 billion proposal including using COVID money given by the federal government.
