A plea didn’t get worked out in a drug-induced homicide case that started in Marseilles in April. Prosecutor Joe Navarro said he made an offer and supplied the evidence to be used against 56-year old Brian K. Mulcahy. Whether he would have pleaded guilty today or scheduled another date for another type of hearing, Mulcahy had changed his mind when his case came up.
Judge Cynthia Raccuglia stopped the hearing when Mulcahy started asking questions about what was happening. The judge gave him and his lawyer time to talk things over. When they came back, attorney Doug Kramarsic said Mulcahy wants to go in a different direction than he said he did the day before.
A jury is scheduled to be chosen on November 29th to hear the evidence that Mulcahy supplied a lethal dose of heroin and fentanyl to a 15-year old Marseilles boy.
