The Oglesby City Council is asking the local library to have multiple bids before the city can help them with repairing water damage. Mayor Dominic Rivara says that if the city wants to help they can use money from the tax increment financing fund; but it has to be done by the end of the year.

He also says when property taxes come in, that normally covers the library. But the issue was tabled by the city council for a couple of reasons.

Commissioner Jason Curran says he doesn’t have a problem but wondered if agenda item had to be a resolution and not just up for discussion. And Commissioner Thomas Argubright says the library should get multiple bids from other companies.

He says the information about what’s happening should be a little more specific.
