Firefighters in Oglesby are getting a raise.
The city council approved a new four-year agreement at Monday’s meeting.
Mayor Dominic Rivara says Fire Chief Ron Popurella will have his pay increased from $125 to $500 a month.
Rivara says Popurella was the lowest paid chief in the area.
He also says that the fireman will get a 3% raise per year over the four years and compensation pay if they are on a call for more than four hours.
Firefighters will also have four paid training times they will report to the city as well.
