Ottawa residents have at least an extra week to get ready for the leaf vacuums to go through their neighborhoods. City Engineer Tom Duttlinger says there’s no point in starting this week as would be usual if the trees aren’t dropping many leaves yet. If you happen to have leaves or other yard waste to get rid of, you can still use the yard waste dumpsters. Duttlinger expects them to be there until the end of November.
But if you rake leaves out to the side of the street, be patient.
