Peru Police Chief Bob Pyszka says that he and Mayor Ken Kolowski have gotten in contact with the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH coalition.

Pyszka says that they are working with Jackson on a march for the Illinois State University Student Jelani Day.

Jackson says the peaceful march is not a march on the city of Peru.

He says the purpose is to give Day’s family some closure.

Pyszka says he’s looking forward to working with Jackson and the police department will help out in any way it can.
