A LaSalle County Board consultant has some homework: come up with a few redistricting proposals. Board Chairman Don Jensen says the consultant isn’t being told where the board members live. So they aren’t being drawn into intentionally protected districts and it’s likely that some will end up together in a district.
The committee overseeing it wants a few proposals to choose from on November 1st so it can send one to the full board on the 4th. The map is supposed to be compact with contiguous districts. And it would be best if the district lines don’t cut across precincts, so the LaSalle County Clerk’s Office can more easily manage voting.
