$25,000 in grant money could be awarded to two police K9 units in LaSalle County.
Marseilles Police K9 Tucker and Peru Police K9’s Saxon and Maddox are nominees for the Aftermath K9 grant which can be used to improve where he works.
Police Chief Brian Faber says people can go to Aftermath’s website to be able to vote.
But Faber says there are other ways.
Faber also says people can vote once a day starting Tuesday and winners will be announced next Tuesday.
Update: The Mendota Police Department’s dog Johnny is another contender. Peru Police Chief Bob Pyszka says his department is looking into why it’s not listed on the online ballot this morning (Tuesday, October 19).
Second update: Peru’s police department and the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department are now listed on the ballot page as of 9:04am Tuesday, October 19.
