Something was wrong this weekend with the fire alarm at the Dougherty high rise in Ottawa. The Ottawa Fire Department answered 13 false alarm calls to the building yesterday. The Housing Authority for LaSalle County says only the alarm company can turn off the alarm. And the fire department policy is to treat each alarm like it’s a real fire until it knows otherwise. The normal complement of fire fighters and trucks goes out on each call.
