Toni Pettit of Streator says the annual Jammin’ at the Clock event should have one show next year at City Park. So far, it’s been at Heritage Park with audiences of up to 200 people. She says City Park could hold a lot more. Bands that draw so many people will cost more, so she’s proposing an admission fee.
The admission fee and proposed beer sales at the park would require some waivers to the park rules. City Council member Tara Bedei says donors who helped fund the Plumb Pavilion’s construction wanted it to be for everyone to enjoy performances there without an admission charge. Pettit says she’s been asked why there aren’t more events at Plumb Pavilion in City Park, so she thought she’d try to arrange one there.
The City Council plans to consider an ordinance change at an upcoming meeting.
