Mammograms and Pap smears can catch breast and cervical cancers early enough to treat them successfully. The LaSalle County Health Department is putting out the word for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It has a program to help women who can’t afford screenings. Some women ages 21 to 64 can get them for free. Others can get help paying the insurance company deductibles.
