The 10th annual La Salle County Cross Country Invitational hosted by Streator High School at The Eastwood golf course.  In the girls division, The Ottawa team won the title with Grace Carroll finishing 3rd.  Seneca placed 2nd with Evelyn O’Connor taking 1st and Ashley Alsvig placing 2nd overall for the Lady Irish. The Marquette team finished 4th with Maggie Jewett leading the Crusaders with a 4th place overall finish. Other teams competing in the girls division: LP took 3rd and Streator was 5th.

 

In the Boys race, L-P won the team title,  Seneca placed 2nd, Mendota finished third, Streator was fourth and Ottawa placed fifth. Top Ten Individual results: Ryan Hartman won the race and Matt Beard placed 4th for the LP Cavaliers. Seneca’s Austin Aldridge finished 2nd, Brady Danek took 5th and Chris Poyner took 9th for Seneca. Kody Danko placed 3rd for Streator. Anthony Kelson and Alex Hermosillo finished 6th and 7th for Mendota , Liam Tipple took 8th for Ottawa and Marquette’s Jimmy Lawsha ended the day in 10th. 

 

The Ottawa JV team took first place at the Morris Invitational in volleyball. Top performers for the Lady Pirates in the tournament were Hannah Waddell with 10 aces, Ella Schmitz had 18 kills, Skylar Dorsey had 64 assists and Haley Waddell led the team in digs.

Also in volleyball, the Ottawa freshmen team took 3rd place in the Mendota Invitational.

 

In the Interstate Eight Conference Boys Soccer Tournament. LP won the fifth-place game by defeating Morris 3-2. Gio Garcia scored all three goals for the Cavaliers.

 

Serena defeated Aurora Christian 2-0 in soccer. Tanner Faivre scored both goals with Camden Figgins assisting on both goals for the Huskers.
