Interstate 80 was closed for about three hours yesterday between Princeton and Ladd. A truck hauling anhydrous ammonia was in a crash. It wasn’t leaking, but a hazardous materials crew went to the crash site and the Illinois Department of Transportation shut down the highway going each way. Anhydrous ammonia is used in farm fertilizer and is deadly when inhaled.
