The Ottawa Varsity Golf team won their third in a row class 2A regional championship with a team score of 299 at the Deer Park Country Club. Drake Kaufman was the top overall golfer with a score of 71. Also for the Pirates Jonathan Cooper came in 2nd overall with a 72 and Drake Stoudt placed 5th with a 75. 

 The LP Cavaliers finished in second place with a team score of 315. Carter Fenza finished 3rd overall scoring a 74 and Coleman Rundle also shot a 74 and finished in 4th place for the Cavaliers.

 

The Newark/Serena golf team competed at the Port Byron regional at Byron Hills golf course. Cam Figgins scored an 80 and Dylan Cartwright finished with an 81 to earn themselves individual spots at Monday’s IHSA Sectional at the Prairie View Golf Course.

 

Also in golf, Morris Varsity placed 3rd at the Lemont Regional with a 328. This advances the team to Monday’s IHSA Sectional in New Lenox.

    

The Ottawa JV team lost to Sycamore  in tennis. In doubles, the team of Peyton Bryson and Lexi Innis and partners Adalyn Borowski and Bianca Sipula were winners in doubles.

 

 

In the Interstate 8 Conference semifinals in soccer, Ottawa lost to Sycamore 7-0. The Pirates will now compete in the third-place bracket due to the loss.

 

Streator lost to Lisle in varsity volleyball. Hannah Rambo led the Lady Bulldogs with 5 kills and 7 digs in the loss.

 

Junior High Sports.

Both Shepherd girls teams defeated Morris in basketball. The 7th Grade Lady Rams outplayed Morris winning  30-1. Ashlyn Ganiere scored 20 points in the Shepherd victory.

The 8th grade girls also won 38-12 over Morris. Top performers for the Rams were Mary Stisser scoring 15 points and Kindley Moore with 13 points.
