This past weekend was the Mendota Ryder Cup in high school golf and the Ottawa Pirates earned first place with a team score of 229. Partners Drake Kaufman and Drake Stoudt broke the team record at the event with their 3-under-par scoring a 67. Also in the Pirates victory, the team of Jonathan Cooper and Seth Cooper shot a 74 and Alex Billings and Chandler Creedon finished with an 88.

 

The Ottawa JV tennis team hosted an Invitational at King Courts. The Ottawa team finished 4th on the day with Batavia finishing first. Ottawa’s McKenzie Eichelkraut placed 2nd and Gabby Cooper got 4th overall in singles. The team of Peyton Bryson and Lexi Innis placed 3rd and partners Mika Moreland and Aubrey Sanders finished in 5th place in doubles.

 

 

The LP tennis team finished 2nd place in their Lady Cavs Invitational. Ava Lannen won the singles title with Carlie Miller finishing second for the Cavaliers. Also for LP, Angela Smudzinski and Jenesis Greening were runners-up in doubles.

 

 

The Ottawa High Cross Country traveled to Sterling for the Rock River Run Invitational.  The varsity girls placed 3rd overall. Top performers for the Lady Pirates were Grace Carroll placing 10th and Kendra Martin taking 15th. The Boys finished 16th overall with Liam Tipple and Cole Smelko leading the way for the Pirates.

 

Serena dominated Yorkville Christian 8-0 in varsity soccer. Tanner Faivre led the Huskers with 3 goals. Camden Figgins added 2 goals and Hunter Staton, Carson Baker and Hudson Stafford each added a goal in the victory.

 

 

Also in soccer, Earlville defeated Oregon 5-0. Griffin Cook led the Red Raiders with 3 goals and an assist in the win.
