Tonight is High School Football. 

The Marquette Crusaders will host Chicago Hope at Gould Stadium. Game time at 7pm with Isaac Missel and Andrew Evola with the call of the game on 93.5 and 1430 WCMY and streaming live on 1430 WCMY DOT COM.

 

The Ottawa Pirates travel to take on Woodstock North. Game time at 7pm with Sean Frey giving you all the play by play action on 95.3 Jack FM and streaming online at 953 JACK FM DOT COM.

 

Other High School football games for tonight

LP is at Sycamore, Streator is home to take on Manteno, Seneca defends their home field against Iroquois West, Morris at home to face Marengo and St Bede is set to host Riverdale.

 

Results in High School Golf

Ottawa were winners over Mendota at Deer Park Golf Course. The Pirates Jonathan Cooper and Drake Kaufman both led all golfers with each scoring a 36.

 

The Ottawa JV team  lost to Mendota at Deer Park..  Top scorer for the Pirates was Dan Bruner with a 42.

 

The LP varsity team defeated Rochelle. Top golfers for the Cavaliers were Carter Fenza scoring a 41 and Coleman Rundle with a final score of 43

 

The Newark /Serena  team finished 4th at the Dwight invitational  2-man scramble event. The pair of Dylan Cartwright and Cam Figgins finished 4th with a 2 under par score of 69.

 

The LP girls varsity team lost to Kaneland in a dual matchup. Grace Antle scored a 45 to lead the Lady Cavaliers in their effort. 

 

Plano, Seneca and Earlville competed in a girls varsity triangular matchup at the Cedardell Golf Course. Seneca finished in 2nd place with Julia Hogan scoring a 52 for the Lady Irish.

 

In Volleyball

Ottawa lost in a close one to LP at Kingman Gym.  For the Cavaliers Camryn Piscia had six kills, two blocks and Katherine Sowers finished with five kills, eight assists in the victory.  Chey  Joachim had eight kills and eight points and Mel Pries finished with seven kills in the Pirates effort.

 

Marquette defeated their rival Woodland in Streator. Top performers for the Crusaders were Lilly Craig and Mary Lechtenberg who combined for 15 kills and 11 blocks,  Makayla Backos had 10 kills, Lindsey Kaufmann 21 digs and Kaylee Killelea finished with 37 assists.

 

 

The Ottawa JV team defeated Mendota 4-1 in tennis. Winners for the Lady Bulldogs: McKenzie Eichelkraut won in singles. The team of Mika Moreland and Aubrey Sanders, partners Peyton Bryson and Lexi Innis and the duo of  Adalyn Borowski and Bianca Sipula were all winners in doubles.

 

Ottawa Elementary hosted their very first cross country meet of their inaugural season yesterday against Princeton, Marquette, and Seneca.  In the Girls race Top finisher for Marquette was Lucy McGrath, for Ottawa it was  Malina Rodriguez. In the Boys race, Top finisher was Ottawa’s Carter Noonan. Marquette was led by Hunter Heuser.
