St. Sen. Brian Stewart says he wants to make sure everyone has the chance to have their voice heard and talk about things that matter the most to them. But if they were planning to speak at his town hall in Dixon this past week, they’ll have to wait almost two months for the chance. The Freeport Republican rescheduled it.
It was supposed to be at Sauk Valley Community College Thursday night, September 23rd. But a policy that people going to events on the campus be vaccinated against COVID-19 or show a negative test prompted him to change venues. The event will be at the Dixon Elks Lodge on Tuesday, November 16th.
Stewart says the “vaccine or test requirement” could have severely limited who could attend.
