Yesterday was the Tri-County Conference golf tournament at Wolf Creek in Pontiac.  Marquette’s  Kaitlyn Magoonaugh won the championship title in the girls division. The Seneca team finished in second behind Roanoke-Benson, top performers for the Irish were Laura Yegge and Julia Hogan.

In the boys division, Seneca and Marquette competed at the event. For the Irish, Noah Cade finished third with an 83.  Top performers for the Crusaders were Ryan Peterson and Carson Zellers.

 

At Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Course, Streator defeated LP in Varsity golf. Results for the Bulldogs  Cole Martin led all golfers with a 44, followed by Dane Winterrowd and Cole Park each shooting a 45 and Noah Colter with a 46.

 

Jack Starkey finished the day with three goals to lead Streator over Kewanee 4-3 in varsity soccer. Davey Rashid added the other goal in the Bulldogs victory.

 

Also in soccer, Earlville dominated Indian Creek 7-0 in a Little Ten Conference matchup.  Bryar Keller led the Red Raiders with two goals.

 

Streator lost to Reed-Custer at Pops Dale Gymnasium in Volleyball. Top performers for the Lady Bulldogs were Mallory Goerne with eight kills and seven digs and Ellie Isermann finishing with seven assists and 11 digs in the loss.

Streator defeated  Reed-Custer in the JV game. Mya Zavada had four kills and two aces for Streator.

 

The Streator girls team had a strong performance at home over St Bede in tennis. Lucy Zavada and Claire Vogel  won in singles. In doubles,   Ebony Pickens and Brianna Janke and partners Marissa Vickers and Franchesca Rodriguez were also winners for the Lady Bulldogs.

 

In Junior High Sports

Both the 7th and 8th grade Shepherd girls basketball teams defeated Peru Parkside. The 8th graders won 36-15.  Mary Stisser had 13 points for the Lady Rams. The 7th grade team won 33-12 leading the way for Shepherd was  Ashlyn Ganiere with 18 points.
