It will cost $1.7 million to rehab Riordan Pool over the next five years. Ottawa City Commissioner Marla Rodriguez wants to keep it open, but with a cost like that there’s some thinking to do about the options. Building a new pool would cost around $4 million. And there’ll be a new pool going in at the new YMCA building.
Rodriguez says she received a consultant’s report today detailing needed repairs and improvements. Troubles range from rusty beams to limited handicap accessibility.
Rodriguez explained the findings at tonight’s City Council meeting.
