The old gas station building at Main and Broadway streets in Marseilles is coming down. Demolition began this morning. It’s part of the work needed to realign Broadway and Commercial streets so it’s not so hard for drivers to figure out what to do and for truck drivers to turn there.
The plan is to widen Broadway to the south and Commercial to the north so they look more like just one street that crosses another. Commercial and Broadway are out of kilter where they meet Main.
