Two more contracts were approved this week for work at Ottawa’s Thornton Park. R & R Landscaping is getting one part of the job for $39,500. Commissioner Marla Rodriguez says there was on other quote for $42,000. The City Council waived the ordinary rules which would require competitive bidding.
Grand Rapids Enterprises will do water and sewer pipe work in the park for $13,300.
The city fired one company that was supposed to coordinate all the work, because it was taking too long and the contractor didn’t have an apprenticeship program.
Concrete work is done at Thornton Park in Ottawa. But there’s much more work to do.
