The Ottawa City Council is pulling the plug on Ottawa Uncorked. Mayor Dan Aussem says the replacement for the 2 Rivers Wine and Jazz Festival didn’t work out, so the company that ran it won’t do it next year.
There wasn’t much attendance. Aussem says the group that ran it this year also didn’t let in wine dealers who weren’t members. The city entered a two-year contract with the Illinois Grape Growers and Vintners Alliance, but the City Council cancelled the contract this week.
