Ottawa Police Chief Brent Roalson demonstrated a noise meter at City Hall yesterday while City Clerk Shelly Munks cranked up Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’. If the ordinance is approved, Roalson’s department would enforce decibel limits by zoning and time.
Mayor Dan Aussem is asking for input from the businesses that will have to follow the rules. He plans for the City Council to place it on file Tuesday.
City Attorney Tim Cantlin says the business and the band can both be ticketed under the proposal. Fines would start at $75.
