The LaSalle County Board Property Committee recommends an air quality test at the county health department building. The county already bought a filtration system with COVID-19 relief money, but county officials want to know if it’s any good.
Steve Szeredy from Midwest Environmental Consulting Services says particle collectors will be put in the building. Laboratory technicians will look for compounds put off by printers, glue, carpeting, treated wood, and other materials of modern living.
The compounds don’t always bother people. But they can cause headaches and long term exposure to high amounts can cause other ailments.
