New Peru Police Chief Bob Pyszka will run the department with Sarah Raymond in the role of Deputy Chief. The City Council swore them in last night. Chief Doug Bernabei will return to the ranks as a lieutenant. He’s been the chief for 15 years. But in early July, the City Council voted to name someone else the chief. Reasons weren’t given.

Pyszka has worked for Peru for 31 years. Raymond has been with the department for 18 years.
