Berta’s Tap in Ottawa is closed for a week starting today. The management agreed to a liquor license suspension for two late night noise violations written up for loud music. Dan Patton from Berta’s says his business is being treated differently than others because of one person who lives nearby.

Kevin Bressendorf believes his complaints led to the action against Berta’s. He says he’s losing tenants because of late night loud music.

During a workshop meeting yesterday, Mayor Dan Aussem said the City Council will update the noise ordinance so it’s more clear. He feels it should include a measurable sound level and distance so it’s less subjective.
