A new position could be added to the Lasalle County Parks Department.
The county’s salary and labor committee approved creating a salary for an assistant parks director that would be working full time.
Human Resources Director Melissa Pilch says only the park director was working around the parks before and it became a safety hazard.
She says two people should be working at both parks.
If approved by the county finance committee the assistant park director could make $50,000 a year.
The salary and labor committee also asked to raise the salary of the park director to $60,000.
