The Cubs are unveiling a new Hall of Fame at Wrigley Field. The team unveiled plaques yesterday featuring the 56 initial honorees, which include a combination of former players, managers, broadcasters, announcers and executives. A committee will determine who is inducted into the Cubs Hall of Fame in the future.
A Tyler O’Neill three-run homer highlighted a five-run fifth inning as the Cardinals beat the Brewers 8-4 at Busch Stadium. The Cards will host the Pirates tonight.
The Bears welcome the Buffalo Bills to Soldier Field tomorrow for a preseason matchup. Quarterback Andy Dalton is expected to play at least the first quarter. Rookie backup Justin Fields is also expected to play after being held out of Wednesday’s workout with soreness.
Former Bears QB Mitch Trubisky is returning tomorrow as a member of the Buffalo Bills. Trubisky is getting the start for the Bills. The former Bear signed a one-year deal with Buffalo to serve as the backup to starter Josh Allen.
In the PGA, Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm lead the opening round of the Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey.

Tonight Ottawa High School will officially announce their Fall sports athletes at the annual Red & White night. The event is capped off with the Pirates football scrimmage on King Field.

The Ottawa Varsity team shot a 301 to win the LP Cavaliers Invitational at Oak Ridge Golf Course. The Pirates’ Drake Stoudt earned first place with a 72 and Drake Kauffman placed second scoring a 73.
The Ottawa girls finished with a 221 against Coal City and their host Pontiac. Zoe Harris led the Lady Pirates with a final score of 44.
The Seneca girls hosted Roanoke Benson and Dwight at the Creek golf Course in Morris. Laura Yegge led the Lady Irish with a 54 on the day.

Marquette defeated Woodland 11-2 in baseball and The Marquette-Wallace girls softball team outscored
