Illinois Valley Community College trustees approved settling an insurance claim that came out of last year’s cyber attack. One person claimed damages for the risk of identity theft. The college’s insurance company will pay the person $35,000. That person agrees to make no further claims and not to recruit anyone else to make claims against the school. Hackers locked up the IVCC computer system and may have obtained personal information for about 200,000 students and staff.
