Eloy Jiménez smacked another pair of home runs and drove in five as the White Sox hammered the Twins 11-1 in Minneapolis. Jiménez has four homers in the last two games. Tim Anderson and Yoán Moncada also went deep and Luis Robert had two hits and an RBI in his first start for the South-Siders since the beginning of May. Lucas Giolito struck out eight and allowed one run on two hits over eight-innings for the win.

The Cubs and Brewers play a doubleheader today at Wrigley Field after last night’s series opener was postponed due to rain. Justin Steele will make his first Major League start for the Cubs in the opener of the twin bill. The North-Siders will then hand the ball to righty Alec Mills for the nightcap. Both games will be seven innings.
The Cardinals are in Pittsburgh tonight for the start of a three-game set against the Pirates. J.A. Happ takes the bump for St. Louis against Pittsburgh’s Steven Brault. The Cards are coming off a series win over the Royals.
Cardinals pitcher Kwang Hyun Kim is on the shelf. The left-handed starter was placed on the injured list with left elbow inflammation. The Cards have activated right-hander Daniel Ponce de Leon off the IL in his place.
The Bulls dropped their first summer league game in Vegas to the Pelicans 94-77. Devon Dotson led Chicago with 16 points and Patrick Williams had 15. The Bulls face the Spurs today.
The Bulls are one of several teams that the NBA is investigating for possible tampering. The sign-and-trade deal with the Pelicans involving Lonzo Ball could have violated league rules. The two teams allegedly had talks prior to the free agency deadline of last Monday. . Violators can get a ten million dollar fine, forfeiture of draft picks, or cancellation of the trade.
Luka Stojanovic [[ Stoh-YAH-no-vich ]] is the MLS Player of the Week. The Chicago Fire midfielder earned Player of the Week honors after his two-goal performance in Fire’s 2-1 home win over the New York Red Bulls on Sunday.

Shepherd outscored Pontiac 10-9. The Lady Rams Piper Lewis gave up four hits and struck out three. Addie Russell came in the 5th to finish the game, giving up one hit and striking out four.
The Marquette/Wallace team defeated Fieldcrest 8-2.
