New LaSalle County Sheriff Adam Diss says he appreciates the faith the retired Tom Templeton and the County Board have in him. When Templeton announced his retirement last month, he recommended Diss to replace him. Diss says becoming the Sheriff wasn’t part of his plan when he started working at the department in 1998.
His appointment is for the rest of Templeton’s term, which would have ended at the end of November next year. In the meantime, he can campaign to be elected to the job for the term that starts in December 2022. The Board vote approving the appointment was this afternoon.
