Ottawa City Hall will try again to get a grant to clean up the former Peltier Glass factory. Mayor Dan Aussem says the city is hiring the firm Fehr Graham to write the “brownfield” grant application. Such a grant is for cleaning up former industrial sites so developers are interested in them.
He says the city would tear down the oldest part of the building. There are lead and arsenic residues left over from glass making on the site, according to information the city compiled in 2013.
