About a month ago, Ameren replaced about 40 lights along E. Norris Dr. in Ottawa. Spokesman Brian Bretsch says a company crew noticed six that were burned out or not working right.
Bretsch says another light project on Boyce Memorial Dr. wasn’t Ameren’s job, but it has the same effect. The LED lights use less than half the power the other lights do and drivers may think they look better too. The LED lights look white. The old mercury vapor lights were purple and the sodium lights were orange.
