In a letter to Illinois Valley Community College, Oglesby Mayor Dominic Rivara says the city would want to construct a 1 megawatt solar station.
This would be on 10 acres of college land from the college parking lot out to IL 251.
Rivara also says IVCC has built an agricultural machine shed.
He says that the city is right across from where the shed is located.
The city could help the campus by providing electric because right now the city only provides water and sewer.
Rivara hopes that campus can use the solar station for educational purposes as well.
