After more than a year of giving almost daily updates on the coronavirus, the LaSalle County Health Department is switching to weekly reports. The last of the daily reports came Tuesday. There were just 485 current cases—none of them new—and eight recoveries.
After 12,891 total cases, the county has had 12,406 recoveries and 309 deaths attributed to the virus. That’s a fatality rate of just under 2.4% of the known cases. The health department will update statistics weekly starting this Friday.
