At 6:00pm the Marquette Crusaders will also be at Wesleyan to take on Normal University in the baseball Super-Sectional. In the Class 1A baseball Super-Sectional, The Newark Norseman travel to The Rivets Stadium in Rockford to face Newman Central Catholic.
Tonight Ottawa High School is hosting the Class 3A Softball Super-Sectional with Lemont taking on Washington at 6pm.
Over in wrestling
The Ottawa Pirates placed third at the IWCOA Class 2A Peoria Central Regional on Sunday.
Champions in their weight classes for the Pirates were Tristan Simmons at 120, Marek Duffy at 160 and Charles Medrow at 182 pounds. Finishing second for Ottawa were Grason Johnson , Tristan Wheeler and Tate Spicer. Nine Ottawa wrestlers have advanced to the Geneseo Sectional.
Seneca defeated Yorkville in a close one 191-190.5 in the IWCOA regional.
This was the Irish’s first Regional Wrestling Championship in school history. All 14 wrestlers for Seneca advanced to the Sectional next Saturday at Sandwich High School. Champions in their weight classes were Owen Feiner at 126 and Gavin Robertson at 182 pounds. The St Bede team finished the day in third place.
After a couple rounds of golf this past weekend, Andrew Stineman was crowned champion at the 74th Annual Pine Hills Invitational.
