A man accused of murdering his ex-wife’s parents and trying to kill her later will get a mental fitness evaluation.
Public Defender Ryan Hamer asked that 37-year old Donald Fredres be evaluated to stand trial and look at whether he was sane at the time of the crime.
State’s Attorney Greg Sticka mentioned in court that he is still waiting on evidence in the case.
The trial dates put in place by Judge H. Chris Ryan were also thrown out.
The information on his mental fitness will be looked at a status hearing in July.
