The North Central Illinois Artworks Silo Pathways project has decided to help support a local businesswoman create a mural dedicated to women of the county.
Christie Pasieka who is an event planner and baker says she wants to create a series of murals called the Empowered Women of Starved Rock that could be put up around Lasalle.
Pasieka says the first mural would include educators and authors.
Committee member Chris Coughlin says that the Silo Pathways project through the North Central Illinois Artworks will help Pasieka find an artist to create the mural.
Coughlin says the city or a committee dedicated to placing murals would have to approve where it would be placed.
The project still needs full approval from the Lasalle City Council.
