On Sunday the Ottawa Fire Department responded to a call about semi truck that was leaking oil.
This was happening on I-80 eastbound near mile marker 90 near IL 23 entering Ottawa at 10 pm on Sunday.
The truck driver said his truck hit a metal object in the middle of the road and when he pulled over he saw that one of the fuel tanks was leaking.
The fire department started to put down oil dry and hazmat absorbent socks around the spill.
Illinois State Police closed the off ramp.
