Esther L. Janke, 79, of Marseilles, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Goldwater Nursing Home in Princeton, IL.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2026, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Peggy Schumann officiating. Burial will be in Riverview in Marseilles.
Esther was born on May 5, 1947, in Ottawa, to John G. and Esther L. (Gage) Clark. She married Richard L. Janke of Marseilles who preceded her in death.
Esther worked as a CNA for many years at Pleasant View Lutheran Home in Ottawa until her retirement. She enjoyed watching the Cubs and Bears games, and she was a diehard Cubs and Bears fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri L. (Randy C. Blue) Janke of Marseilles; her son, Robert L. Janke of Marseilles; two grandchildren, Jacob R. Hughes of KY and Jason T. Hughes of Marseilles; one great-grandchild, Jayden C. Gilmore of Streator, IL; her sister, Mary (Doug) Clark of IN; her brother, Jim Clark of Marseilles; nephews, Scott Clark of OR, Rick Clark of IN, Jim Clark of Ottawa, Jared Clark of IN; and her great-nephew, Aaron Clark of Ottawa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; a son, Richard L. Janke at birth; and her brother, John G. Clark of LA.
